Deep Tissue and Sports Massage

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage technique specifically designed to help alleviate pain, enhance performance, prevent injuries, and aid recovery. It involves the manipulation of soft tissues like muscles, tendons, and ligaments to improve flexibility, reduce muscle tension, and increase blood flow.

Deep tissue or Sports massage can be used in various stages:

  1. Pre-event: To warm up muscles, increase circulation, and improve flexibility, preparing the body for performance.
  2. Post-event: To reduce soreness, flush out lactic acid, and promote faster recovery.
  3. Rehabilitation: To assist with healing from sports-related injuries by breaking down scar tissue, reducing inflammation, and enhancing muscle function.
  4. Pain relief:  can be used to relieve pain and aid in on going physiotherapy treatment

This type of massage is not only for professional athletes but can benefit anyone engaged in regular physical activity. It helps maintain physical condition, prevent injury, and improve recovery time.

Massage also provides therapeutic pain relief for long term injuries and general aches and pains.

Treatments

60 Minute Sports Massage

£56

Massage is a series of movements performed using the therapist’s hands, forearms and sometimes elbows depending on the needs of the patients.

These massage movements are applied to the client’s body to treat muscular pain and joint stiffness.

There are many different types of massage; at Physioflex we use Swedish, Sports and Therapeutic massage.

You can choose how long a session you need depending on your specific needs.

45 Minute Sports Massage

£48

 A massage can:

  • Reduce pain you experience from the soft tissues and muscles
  • Help relax you and your muscles.
  • Reduce tension to help with preventing injury or future pain.
  • Improve blood flow to the affected areas which can help with healing.
  • Stimulate the lymphatic system to help reduce inflammation.
  • Mobilise muscle and joints to reduce pain and stiffness and improve movement.
  • Improve flexibility which can help you to move, bend and stretch.

30 Minute Sports Massage

£40

Massages can be uncomfortable as some tissues can lie deep in the body.

If the massage pressure causes too much discomfort you must let your therapist know and they can modify their techniques whilst still achieving an effective treatment.

During a massage, oils or wax are used to reduce friction on the skin.

If you have any allergies or you are vegan, please notify your therapist prior to your massage as there are alternatives available within the clinics.
